Shameless Commercialism
After thinking for a while about commercialism and its place on education-themed blogs, I’ve decided to include some ads here. I won’t be splattering them all over the site, but I thought relegating the majority of them to a single page would allow those who would like to support me to do so, and those who dislike ads strongly to avoid them.

First off, let me take a moment to plug my web host. DreamHost has been totally awesome for me, responding quickly when I needed them (although on one particular occasion it was totally my fault) and giving me more bandwidth/server space than I’ve ever needed. The account gives me enough freedom to be as geeky as I want to be (OK, maybe a little more than I want to be .. for now), but at the same time they have plenty of “one-click installs” for people who feel intimidated by things like FTP, PHP, MySQL, etc. and just want the darned thing to work.
On top of that, if you enter “ACADAES” as your promo code you’ll save $5 off of a month-to-month subscription, $25 off of a yearly subscription, and $50 off of anything longer than that. These discounts come directly out of my referral fee, but I still thought it was worth it.
