I do all of my media creation using tools that are either open source (Kdenlive, Tenacity, Inkscape, OBS) or save files in an open format (Obsidian). Then their subscriptions lapsed, and they had no options because they hadn't learned anything else. I teach the easy lessons, but some still learn the hard way.
